Carl Victor Sutter

Carl Victor Sutter, 85, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014. Mr. Sutter was born in Tupper Lake, NY, and lived in Panama City for the last 42 years. He served 7 years in the US Army, and was one of the first servicemen to join the US Air Force. Mr. Sutter served 27 years with the US Air Force, retiring at the rank of Tech Sergeant. During his military career, he served during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. After his military service, Mr. Sutter worked with the American Red Cross, assisting with the Blood Mobile. He was honored by the Red Cross for donating 26 gallons of blood, stopping only due to his failing health. Mr. Sutter was Roman Catholic by faith.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Olga Miller Sutter; his children, Lisa Pierce of Lynn Haven, Maureen Ward (Marvin) of Southport, Jennifer Manning (Doug) of Huntsville, AL, and Patrick Carl Sutter (Susan) of Valdosta, GA; his sister, Sandra Friend (Vernon) of Tupper Lake, NY; his beloved grandchildren, Myles Pierce, Samantha Ward, Gabrielle Ward, Jason Manning (Andrea), Michael Sutter, Carly Sutter, and Justine Sutter; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Manning; and his faithful granddog, Blossom.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Monday, July 14, 2014, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Anthony Nguyen officiating. Interment with military honors offered by the US Air Force will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Sutter's name may be made to the American Red Cross.The family extends special thanks to Doctors Hayat, Munoz, Nunez, Sinicrope, and Safarian and their staffs, and to the ICU nurses and staff at Bay Medical Center/Sacred Heart.
