Dorathea Edna Nelson

Dorathea “Dot” Nelson, 92, of Sunny HIlls, FL passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014, at a local hospital.  A native of Brookline, NY she had been a resident of Sunny Hills, FL since 1988.  Dot worked for The Girl Scout Counsel of Greater New York for 30 years.  She was a very active member of Messiah Lutheran Church and loved her 2 cats.

Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Rosa Nelson and her brother, Frederick Nelson.  She is survived by her cousin, Paul Becker (Betty).

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Holdcraft officiating.  Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Sunny Hills, FL.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Girl Scouts of The Florida Panhandle, 1515 St. Andrews Blvd, Panama City, FL 32405 or the Humane Society of Bay County, 1600 Bay Avenue, Panama City, FL 32405.
