John "Lefty" Rudovsky, LTCOL, USAF, Ret., passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at his son's home. Col. Rudovsky was born in Nesquehoning, PA, and lived in Panama City for the last 40 years. He retired from the US Air Force at the rank of Lt. Colonel after 31 years, serving in WWII and Korea. He was a parishioner at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Col Rudovsky was preceded in death by his wife, Millicent Rudovsky.
Survivors include his children, Hal Rudovsky (Fran) of Panama City and Michel Taylor (Steven) of Bloomington, IL; a brother, Steve Rudovsky of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Brandy Souza (Mike), John Rudovsky (Kimberly), Aubrey Reid (Danny), Ben Taylor and Alex Taylor; and his great-grandchildren, Will Souza, Max Souza, Sophia Shaffer and Addison Rudovsky.
A Memorial Mass will begin at 3:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2014, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with military honors offered by the US Air Force Honor Guard will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Chapel from 2:00 PM until service time at 3:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Col. Rudovsky's name may be made to either Catholic Charities, or to the Hospice of the Emerald Coast.
