In Memoriam of Arturo Ardosa Cervantes

Mr Arturo Ardosa Cervantes, age 80, of 541 S Hwy 22A Parker FL went home with the Lord Jesus Christ last Sunday October 29, 2017. He had been a resident of the area since 1993 coming here from the Philippines via Cheyenne, WY

Born and raised in Philippines, the son of Alfeo and Leticia (Ardosa) Cervantes, he witnessed the destructive nature of war, having been a young boy during WWII, he learned to survive in the worst of times and made it to be the best of times , learning to cook food supplied by the forest where they hid as a family, he made his own toys by carving out woods, and was a keen carpenter. The war made him appreciate life and had a sharp awareness that the good Lord Almighty rules above all.

In his early years, Mr. Cervantes would help his parents purchase supplies for the family business and farming ranch. He attended University of the Philippines in Los Banos, graduating in 1959 with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture. He met his wife, Leticia Labasano, in Mati City  while working for Dole and they were married in 1969.

Most thought him a shy and a quiet man but behind his introverted demeanor existed a very wise, God fearing man. Mr. Cervantes had a passion for knowledge and wisdom, he was an avid reader and enjoyed writing in his journals poems and quotes and life tips and  jokes. He loved sharing his knowledge to those who wanted to learn. He was always willing to have a chat and talk, sharing his wits and life nuggets. He had a fervent desire to impart to the young people, investing in them by loving them above all, though he was strict and was a disciplinarian. He loved reading his Bible first thing in the morning. He also liked listening to music and got a laugh or two dancing with his wife or children chacha or boogie.

He leaves his wife of 48 years Leticia L. Cervantes; son Alfeo L. Cervantes II, daughters Ainah Charina and Ainah Elena ; brother Antonio A. Cervantes and sisters in love and their husbands  and brothers in love and their wives,  several cousins and nieces and nephews and many more friends and church family.

Mr Cervantes wanted you to know that he was always aware that his time here on earth was sparse, and it was but a vapor, that he already took up his winning ticket for a one way flight to the best destination any person can ever dream or think or imagine, he wanted to say to one and all that we must do all that we can to follow him to this greatest of paradise, and to not miss out on this eternal opportunity where you too can have the best laughs, the most amazing decor, par excellence lodgings, cream of the crop fashion; where awestruck wonderment for lavish banquets can be had and resonant and melodious music can be heard 24/7,  where the grandest reunion with family and friends is guaranteed;  it is here that love resides full stop. He wanted it known that we shouldn’t be sad for him, that he simply went ahead of us all so he can personally ask Jesus to continue to intercede for us left behind here on earth, that we may be given grace and strength to carry on through all the seasons and journeys of our lives.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Kent Forest Lawn Chapel with Pastor Jack Whetstine and Pastor Alan Ferguson officiating.
