Edward G. Tomaszewski. , 90, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017.
He was born the son of the late Eva Yaworski and Julian Tomaszewski on June, 28, 1926 in Bairdford, Pennsylvania.
Edward served in World War II in the Army Air Corps. After the war he moved to DeFuniak Springs, Florida to be near his parents. Edward married his loving wife Lorene Norris and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1999. He was a member of the Hadiji Shriner Roadrunners, member of Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church which was also an elder, volunteer fire fighter at the beach, assistant maintenance engineer for the Florida Department of Transportation and was awarded the managerial award from the Department of Transportation in 1983 and 1984.
Mr. Tomaszewski is preceded in death by his loving wife Lorene Norris; parents Eva and Julian Tomaszewski; brothers Raymond Tomaszewski who was killed in Iwo Jima WWII, Herman Tomaszewski, and Julius Thomas.
He is survived by his nephews Joe Alberson (Cheryl) of Gaskin, FL. which he lived with since 2016, John Tomaszewski (Linda) of New Martinsville, WV., David Thomas (Audrey) of Vandergrift, PA.; nieces Judith Begeman (Mark) of Slickville, PA., Jan Hess (Joe) of Cheswick, PA., Dorothy Schlessman (Dave) of Cheswick, PA. and Jeannie Diehl of Alexandria, VA. ; great nephew Eddie Alberson of Panama City Beach, Fl.; many great nieces, nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will take place 12 noon Friday June 16, 2017 at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chautauqua Rehab & Nursing Home in DeFuniak Springs, FL.
