Lt. Col. Freddie C. Kight (USAF RET), 97, of Panama City, Florida passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at a local care center.

Mr. Kight was the last surviving Night Fighter of WWII and served in WWII, Korea and the Vietnam Wars. He retired after 27 years of service from the United States Air Force.

He is preceded in death by grandson Sgt. Kevin Scott Kight of Panama City Beach, FL.; granddaughter Morgan Kight and great grandson Reid Carter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Madeline M. Kight of over 72 years; children, Charles Kight of Panama City, FL., and Wayne Kight (Eileen) of Panama City, FL.; brother, Junior Kight (Crystal) Of Charleston, WVA. He is also survived by the following grandchildren: Christy Kight, Robin Kight, Cameron Kight, Cory Kight, Amy Carter (Robert) Jason Liss, Joshuah Hendrix; great – grandchildren Brandon Kight, Kaylee and Kent Carter, T.J. and Jace Liss and Rylee Hendrix.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Deacon Mike Theobald officiating. Family will receive 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Friday, April 21, 2017 at the funeral home.

Special thanks to Covenant Hospice for their wonderful care and to Father Anthony Nyuyen of St. Dominic for spiritual support.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Freddie’s name to Covenant Hospice Bay Medical Center Sacred Heart.
