Master Sergeant, Frederick Allen Miller, USAF, ret, age 86 of Panama City, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 26, 2017 at Bay Medical. Frederick was born March 28, 1930 in Queens, NY to Harry and Libbie (Hewlett) Miller and moved to Panama City from Newport News, VA. Frederick is retired from the US Air Force with twenty-five years of faithful service to his country. He is a Vietnam War Veteran with hundreds of hours in combat flight time and thousands of hours flying in the C-130 aircraft as Flight Engineer. During his service, Frederick received the following: The Distinguished Flying Cross, Several Air Medals and several Commendation Medals, Air Force Commendation Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Outstanding Unit, Combat Readiness Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Longevity Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Philippine Presidential Unit Citation and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Frederick was a true patriot. He is preceded in death by his wives, Constance Miller in 1984 and Dottie Miller in 2009 as well as a son, Fred Miller, Jr., a granddaughter, Cherie and five brothers and two sisters. Frederick is survived by his son, Richard (Diane) Miller of Williamsburg, VA; his daughters, Dawn (Marciano) Olivo of Berthoud, CO and Dana (William) Zelenik of Franklin, TN; two brothers, Sonny Miller of New York and Bobby Miller of Virginia; his grandchildren, Cassidy, Kerri, Matthew, Conner, Meghan, Chantal, Spencer and Melissa as well as his great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Serenity, Zoe, Evelyn and William as well as numerous nieces & nephews and of course his faithful companion Yorkie, Sammy. Friends will be received Monday, April 3 from 10-11 am at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home where funeral services will take place at 11am. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frederick’s memory to Chester A. Sims VA Nursing Home, Panama City.
