Helen Maurine Sawyer

Maurine Sawyer, age 83, of Lynn Haven, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at her home. A native of Maulden, MA, she had been a resident of this area for the past 47 years. She was a member of Daughters of The Nile Shrine Widows Club, Classic Ladies of Shaddi Shrine and Eastern Star. Maurine enjoyed crafts and was an excellent baker.

Maurine was predeceased by her husband, Paul Thomas Sawyer; son, Leonard Keith Sawyer; parents, Daniel and Laura Crawford; sister, Barbara Bennett and brother-in-law, Pete Bennett. She is survived by her four children, Susan Duke (John), Claudia Sawyer, Daniel Sawyer (Mary Jo Bell), and Earl Sawyer (Dalene); seven grandchildren, Earl Sawyer, Jr., Leonard Keith Sawyer, Tyler Kathleen Sawyer, Berry Duke, David Duke, Kimberly Duke and Jacob Grissett; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Kent Forest Lawn Chapel with Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and visitors on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Shriners Daughters of Nile Foundation, 3728 Edwards Road, Panama City, FL 32409.
