Dr Jose R Dolar

Dr. Jose R. Dolar, 77, of Panama City, Florida passed away Friday. April 12, 2024.

He was born in Dumangas, Iloilo, Philippines and a resident of Panama City for 38 years. Attended St. Dominic Catholic Church.

Dr. Dolar graduated with a Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Santo Thomas in the Philippines. He practiced medicine in Dumangas, Iloilo for 3 years and served his residency for family practice at St. Michael’s Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.

Dr. Dolar practiced medicine in Chicago for several years and then moved to Florida in 1986, working for the Florida State Health Department in Bonifay until his retirement. Dr. Dolar enjoyed dancing, singing, and helping the Filipino-American Community and was past president of the Filipino-American Association of Bay County Incorporated.

He is preceded in death by his wife Luzviminda Ordonez Dolar; parents, Jose Dolar, Sr. and Aurora Del Rosario; brothers, Glicerio Dolar and Felicito Dolar.

He is survived by his children Naisy Dolar-Cherek (Ben), Josie Dolar, and Loreal Dolar-Bierer (Brandon); brother, Genaro Dolar (Emma); sister, Lelita Dolar Doctora; grandchildren, Levi Cherek, Ben Cherek, Jr. and Jeffery Bierer.

A memorial mass will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Anthony Nguyen officiating
