June Howard Cox

March 22, 1938 ~ April 3, 2024 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Tribute

June Howard Cox took her final living breath on April 3rd, 2024 at her home. In her bed. Exactly how she had wanted. June spent a great deal of her life living for others, taking care of others, healing others whether it with her heart, hugs, or words. On this day in April, she left this earth with full faith and belief that she was rising up that beautiful ray of sunshine anxiously waiting to see her late sister in law Georgine Whorley and Gwenie Sue. Waiting to greet her would also be her parents. She began her life on March 22, 1936 in Pittsburg, Which was where she met her first husband Robert Land. She then traveled to Florida where she married her late husband Larry Howard of 26 years. June is survived by her children; John Land, Bob Land, Michael Howard, Debra Williams, Martha Giles (late Kevin), and Tensi Scott (Late Greg Scott). Two grandchildren; Cieanna (Brad) Sisk as well as Amy Giles, and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great great grandchildren. Throughout tragedy, her faith never faltered. She cherished the good memories, which included tending to her beautiful flowers and pond at her previous residence, having so many of her grandchildren and their families coming to stay with her. She loved living in Florida, she did not however care for the beach, nor the water, most certainly not the sun, and most tourists. But once she loved you, you were family. And once that Florida sunshine appeared, so did her love of this state. She was able to fall asleep each night so peacefully, and it was said by her that it was because she had a clear conscious. She did not hurt others and lived her life as a loving Christian person…except for the ones that can’t drive. June truly loved caring for her flowers and beautiful pond at her home she shared with her true love, Mr. Howard Cox. She spent her best years being his wife and spoiled in every way possible. Showing her unconditional love does exist. Grandmother began her teen years wanting to be a flight attendant, instead she found being a wife, mother, and grandmother was just as fast and high flying as the women showing you how to buckle your seat belt. Also, waiting to cross the rainbow bridge one day into her arms is her beloved pup Scooter. Her accomplishments? She would not like a list of that made and shared. She would want to know; “Did I help you? Did I make a difference”. She loved and cared in helping others and truly never did it for the recognition, she did those things because of who she was, the type of person she was. June Cox was not flashing, she was honest. June Cox, Mom, Grandma, Grandmother, Granny Fanny; no matter what you called her ”just don’t call me late for dinner”. She gave a part of heart to everyone she met and to teach us how to love for no other reason than for someone to feel loved. Her other love was for dogs, with only the best chicken cooked and at times hand fed. Take take what she’s taught you and then share love to your children or to a friend, either way she still lives on through each of our memories and lessons. That is how June H Cox should be remembered. Also awaiting her call to Heaven is her sister Betty. I write this obituary as a part of her legacy that I intend to cherish and continue on. “Nothing is ever too big to handle” she would say. Had you ever asked her what she regretted in life; her answer without fail would have always been “Nothing, because there isn’t anything that will change it now….instead learn from it” So lets learn from our mistakes, and bow our heads and give a bit of shine up to her as she smiles on each of us.
