Lt. Colonel Lott Lawson, III, U.S. Army, ret., 74 of Panama City, passed away June 11, 2017 at his home.  Lott was born September 7, 1942 to Lott and Norma (Foley) Lawson, II in Columbia, SC and moved to Panama City in 1986.  He is a retired US Army pilot and Vietnam veteran who earned a Purple Heart and several Bronze Stars. He attended Columbia High School, Riverside Military Academy, and Gordon Military College prior to his distinguished military career.  He was a faithful member of Hiland Park Baptist Church and was active in its Men’s Bible and Sunday School groups. He was also an avid golfer and loved fishing and spending time on the water. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Lawson; sister, Candace Buckley; three children, John Lawson, Heather Lawson and Noelle Perryman; and two grandchildren, Sean and Brooks Lawson.  Friends will be received Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home where visitation will begin at 3pm and the memorial services will take place at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lott’s memory to the Hiland Park Baptist Church Building Fund.
