MARY ALICE SHOCKLEY
Mary Alice Shockley, 80, of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at her sister-in-law's home in Vernon. Mary Alice was born in Asheville, NC, but lived most of her life in Panama City. She was a 1955 graduate of Bay High School, and worked 50 years in the banking industry with First Federal Savings and Loan and Regions Bank. She had a beautiful soprano voice, and enjoyed singing and spending time with her family and friends. Mary Alice was a charter member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Panama City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Shockley; brothers, Charles C. Cobb, Jr. and Richard Cobb; and a niece, Teresa Cobb.
Survivors include her son, Troy Shockley of Panama City Beach; step-sons, Mike, Jeff and Tim Shockley, all of Tampa; a sister, Nancy Kirkpatrick of Panama City; her sister-in-law, Sharon Cobb of Vernon; 2 grandchildren, Rickey and Jessie Shockley; and a special nephew and care giver, Mark Cobb of Vernon.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Nation officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
