Mavis E. Anderson

January 31, 1941 ~ September 26, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Mavis Anderson, 76, of Panama City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, surrounded by family.

Her dearest treasure was Heaven. She will now spend eternity enjoying her reward, speaking with her Savior, her body forever whole and new.

She and Wayne met as teenagers and for the next 60 years never fell out of love. The family they built is large and loving, a legacy to her kindness and care. Everyone who met her was better for it.

Mavis had lifelong physical challenges that caused her pain but also made her attentive to pain in others, and supremely brave.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne; siblings, Jak, Sue, and Debbie; son, David and his wife, Sheila; daughter, Kathy and her husband, Kevin; four grandchildren, Allison, Stephanie, Zachary, and Annie; and six great-grandchildren, Leah, Sarah, Lane, Payton, Annabelle, and Dillan.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 2, at the First Baptist Church of Callaway with Brother Jim Kirkland, Brother J.E. Hodges and Brother Jessie Dasher officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.

Pallbearers will be Travis Wester, Zachary Anderson, Norman Todd, Milton Dauphin, Frank Menge and Mike Welch.

Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

“If anyone should want to pay tribute to my memory, give someone a hug or teach a child that God loves them. Spend an hour in God's Word, talk to my Father in the early morning, watch a sunrise or a sunset and praise God for his creation, teach a bible study or recall a memory of something I taught that meant something to you. If anyone would do any of these things and think of me it would be a tribute far beyond any I could possibly deserve but one that would be worth desiring.”
                  -Mavis Anderson
