PEGGY JOYCE BOHANNAN

Peggy Joyce Bohannan, 78, of Lynn Haven, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017. Peggy was born in Clay County, AL and lived in Lynn Haven for the last 4 years, moving here from Ashland, AL. Peggy worked as a Red Cross Water Instructor, bus driver, and in sewing plants and wood shops, and as a Mom. She had fond memories of living in Panama City when her husband David was stationed here. She enjoyed teaching swimming lessons and water safety, and especially loved her time living in the Philippines. As a child, Peggy enjoyed her time on the family farm. She also loved sewing, crocheting, ceramics, and taking art classes. She was a member of the State Avenue Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, David H. Bohannan; her children, Terry Bohannan (Barbara Ann) of the Mossy Pond Community, Jerry Bohannan (Jolene) of Millerville, AL and Sherry Bohannan Jones (Michael) of Lynn Haven; her sisters, Gail Wilson and Dyan Perry, both of Millerville, AL; her grandchildren, Shane Bohannan, Jeremy Bohannan, Justine Bohannan Smith, Conner Jones, Michelle Beretowski, Jan Volpi, and John Michael Beretowski; her great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Bohannan, Stetson Smith, Oakley Smith and Luca Volpi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Ed Young officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bay County Special Olympics in Peggy's name.
