Asa “Duke” Mullis Jr., 78, of Panama City Beach, Florida passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 at a local care center.
Mr. Mullis was born in Valdosta, Georgia and has been a resident of Panama City Beach for 22 years. He moved here from Warner Robins, Georgia.
Duke served in the USMC prior to retiring from the USAF after 25 years of service. He was a high school football referee in Georgia and also coached football, baseball, and basketball.
Duke is preceded in death by his parents Asa and Elizabeth Mullis
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Virginia Mullis; children Russ Mullis (Leslie) and Duke Mullis, IV (Tammy); sister Darleen Pigford (Greg Baur); grandchildren Braden Mullis and Tiffany Cavender (Gordon); great grandchildren Sadie and Syndle Cavender .
Memorial service will take place at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Venture Out Clubhouse. Pastor Henry Hazard will be officiating. Family will receive friends for a luncheon 1:30 P.M. prior to the service.
