Bessie Kate Burke

Bessie Kate Burke, 89, of Panama City, Florida, passed away on January 21, 2022. 

Kate was preceded in death by her parents, Eula Mae McInnis-Burt and Joseph Arthur Burt; her husband Henry Milton Burke, Jr.; a granddaughter Autumn Sas; four brothers, Lamar Burt, Howard Burt, Franklin Burt, and Buford Burt; two sisters, Autherine Owens, and Vermelle Watson. She is survived by daughter Melany Kate Sas (Marty), her son Henry Milton Burke, III; grandson Ryan Burke Sas (Emily) and by her sisters Alice Ryland and Faye Anderson (Newell); as well as her many special nieces and nephews.

Kate worked as an accountant for many years and enjoyed traveling the world as an Air Force spouse.  She doted on her family and enjoyed life to the fullest, often making people laugh with her straightforward views and opinions.

Services will be held in the Worship Center of St. Andrew United Methodist Church of Panama City, on Tuesday, January 25.  Visitation will begin held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Service of Celebration of Life at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John O. Blount officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Andrew United Methodist Church Building Fund.
