Mrs. Betty Bibbs, 91, of Lynn Haven, passed away January 6, 2021, surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Burnside, Kentucky, and had lived in Bay County for the last 46 years. She worked for the Bay County School Board as a lunchroom worker at Cedar Grove Elementary School. Betty was a faithful member and played the piano at the First Pentecostal Church of Panama City for many years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, George Bibbs; a brother, Jim McElhaney, and a sister, Mary Robbins.
Survivors include her children, Phil Bibbs and wife Wanda of Anderson, Indiana, Tonya Brannon and husband Anthony of Lynn Haven, and Stephen Bibbs of Callaway; a brother, Bill McElhaney of Tennessee; a sister, Bobbie Crabtree of Panama City; her grandchildren, Marc Bibbs and wife Christy, Todd Bibbs, Troy Bibbs and wife Shelley, Jessica Starling and husband Kyle and Alison Gould and husband Brant; her great-grandchildren, Emily, Jordan, Carter, Kaity, Londyn, Gage, Lincoln, Samuel, Gracelynn, Kinsley, Kelsee and MacKenzi; and a great-great-granddaughter, Tekla; and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at the First Pentecostal Church of Panama City with Rev. Anthony Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund of the First Pentecostal Church of Panama City for their new Fellowship Hall.
