Carl Lee Carr, 74 of Miramar Beach, passed away peacefully February 28, 2021 at Bay Medical Center. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather and his final days were spent surrounded by his loving family. Born October 3, 1946 in Ithaca, NY, Carl was the youngest son to Joseph and Leola Carr. He moved to Panama City in 1996 and eventually to Miramar Beach in 2007. He was a graduate of Cornell University Class ’79. Carl was a retired patrolman with the Ithaca Police Department. After moving to Florida, he worked throughout the Florida Panhandle for over 21 years as a real estate appraiser. Carl was united in marriage on February 16, 1980 to his wife, Bernice who resides in Miramar Beach. He is also survived by his children, Colleen Carr, Carolynne Griffin and David (Rebecca) Carr; his brother, David H. (Barbara) Carr and his grandchildren, Ellington, Brionne, Anastasia, Aleksandr and Ethan. Quick with a joke and easy to laugh, Carl loved life and had many hobbies including flying airplanes, westerns, and later on in life, the Tampa Bay Rays. Friends will be received Saturday from 12-1 pm at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home where funeral services will take place that afternoon at 1 pm. Services will also be streamed on the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home website. Interment will follow the service at the Catholic Cemetery in Panama City.
