CARL HILDON DAVIS

Carl Hildon Davis, 88, of Southport, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 5, 2018, after an exhaustive battle with cancer. He was born June 2, 1929, in Columbus, Georgia. Mr. Davis retired after 23 years of service with the United States Air Force in 1973 as CMSGT.

He was active in Veteran's events, and was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders until he was no longer able to participate. Mr. Carl enjoyed his vegetable gardening and riding his motorcycle with his beloved dog Snoopy.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Waltraud Margarete Davis and his grandson Brandon Ray Davis. He is survived by his four sons, Carl W. Davis of Vernon, James E. Davis and wife Gail of Panama City, Terry H. Davis and wife Yvette of N. Augusta, SC, and Glen R. Davis of Southport; his three daughters, Myra L. Fergueson of Warrenville, SC, Sharon Davis Hysinger and husband Steve of Southport, and Wanda J. Davis of Augusta, GA; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

No public services are planed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Mr. Carl's name be made to the American Cancer Society. The family also extends their special thanks to his staff of caretakers for their kind and sympathetic assistance over the past few months.
