CHARLES HENRY BASHORE, CMC, US NAVY, RETIRED

Charles Henry Bashore, Command Master Chief, USN, ret., age 80, of Panama City, passed away Monday, January 21,2019, at his home surrounded by his family. Charles was born in Manheim, PA, and had lived in Bay County for the last 33 years. He retired from the US Navy at the rank of Command Master Chief after 31 years service. A Vietnam veteran, Charles served on numerous ships at many positions , earning many honors and commendations during his service time. He loved the Christmas season, and enjoyed making ornaments to give out to children. Charles also enjoyed hunting and spending time in the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Bashore, Jr. and Dennis Bashore.

Survivors include his wife61 years, Rochelle Bashore; his children, Cathleen Fox (David) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Cheryl Bashore of Panama City and Holly Bashore of Freeport, FL; a granddaughter, Kayla Bashore of Panama City; a sister, Patsy Wilmert of Hershey, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Charles' life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the Forest Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating and military honors offered by the US Navy. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charles' name may be made to the Humane Society of Bay County or to a charity of your choice.
