Al Thompson

Charles “Al” Thompson, 66 of Chipley, FL passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on November 1, 2019. Charles was born February 3, 1953 in Sanford, FL to James and Rachel (Sullivan) Thompson. Charles worked as a service technician / transmission specialist and retired from Cook Whitehead Ford with over 20 years of employment. Charles is preceded in death by his father, James Thompson; his sister, Patsy McCord and a niece, Melissa Moran. He was united in marriage on December 18, 1971 to his wife, Gloria who resides in Chipley. Charles is also survived by his mother, Rachel; his children, Jennifer (Mike) Cunningham and Charles Thompson, Jr.; his brothers, Mike & Ronnie Thompson; his four grandchildren, Bonnie Miller, Brandon (Stephanie) Cunningham, Thomas Thompson and Mikey Cunningham; his seven great grandchildren, Danny & Trevor Cunningham, Michael, Nicholas & Gabriel Miller, Lilly Ann Thompson and Michael Cunningham, III; bro-in-law, Roy G. Grounds; his niece, Heather (Russell) Glover and grand-niece & nephew Chelsea & Jr. Glover. Friends will be received 6-8 pm Monday at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place 12 noon Tuesday at the Sand Hills Assembly of God Church in Sandhill community. Interment will follow that service at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
