Charlie Pate left this earthly home to enter into his eternal home on September 4, 2017 after a sudden illness.   No words can express the loss we all feel as family and friends of this wonderful man. Charlie was born on May 20, 1956 in San Diego, California.

He was our family rock, our compass, our personal chef, our voice of reason, Charlie was a doer, a helper in time of need, a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, a best friend, a drinking buddy, a boater, world class traveler, a companion, a giver, he was dedicated, hard working and faithful. But the one word that describes him best is JOY. He was filled with JOY. He severed others. He delighted in your victories and stood beside you in the storm. When we celebrate and give to others we are strengthened spiritually and filled with JOY. He was filled with the JOY of the LORD. Nehemiah 8:10 “The JOY of the LORD is our strength.”

Charlie was co owner of Pate Electric Inc. for 38 years with his brother Danny Pate. He was a past member of the St Andrew Kiwanis and worked on many fund raising actives to benefit others in the community. He was a Load Master with the North West Florida Ballet Company, and a supporter of the Absolute Dance Center in DeFuniak Springs, and a huge believer in helping students achieve their dreams by supporting the Bay Education Foundation. Charlie loved live performances, music, football, boxing, boating on his dream boat the Ever After, camping with his friends, and cooking for those he loved.
