Tribute

Mrs. Christine (Chrissy) E. Vickers 91 of New Florence, MO and formally of Panama City, Florida, passed away with family by her side on February 19, 2020. Christine was born in West Bay, Florida on September 19, 1928 to Clarence and Isabelle (Ray) Clewis.

Mrs. Vickers was always warm, encouraging ,loving, and a devoted mother and grandmother. Her home was always open to family and friends, as she loved entertaining, playing the piano, singing gospel music, dancing, cooking, and gardening (growing roses). She was Baptist by faith, a homemaker, secretary and she belonged to The Order of the Eastern Star, Blue Lodge Chapter (Panama City) and Florissant Chapter (Missouri).

She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Roy Vickers Jr., a daughter Barbara Ann Patterson, two grandsons, Braden Michael Layton and Garett Wayne Patterson Jr. and a brother, Gilbert Chester Clewis of Panama City, FL.

Mrs. Vickers is survived by two daughters, Judy Carolyn Huckeba Smith of Panama City Beach, FL , Mary Frances Smith and her husband Joe of Slocomb, AL. A sister, Martha Lorene Lackey of Wentzville, MO; brothers Leon Clewis and his wife Rosa Carolyn of Maryland Heights, MO and Jerry Thomas Clewis of Berkeley, MO. She was a cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

The Reverend Billy J. Smith will be officiating. Christine will be laid to rest next to her loving husband of 42 years Cecil R. Vickers, Jr.at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Panama City, FL. Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home of Panama City, Florida is assisting the family with arrangements.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Kent -Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Family will receive friends 1:00 P.M.- 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
