Danny Ray Edwards, 69, of Panama City Beach, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at his home.
He fought a long hard battle, but was called home to be with the Lord.
Danny was born April 16, 1948 in Wilson, North Carolina. He was the son of McCullen "Mack" Edwards and Verma Emily Bryant Edwards.
He grew up in North Carolina and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. After serving his country, he became a state trooper for the North Carolina Highway Patrol. Danny moved to Florida around 1983, where he raised his daughter and eventually met is wife. He enjoyed country music and eventually became a one man band known by locals and snowbirds alike. He was Past District Commander of VFW Post 10555 where he was also a Lifetime Member.
Danny is survived by his wife, Nancy Edwards, daughters, Keri Edwards and her husband, Allen, Cindi Walker-Alford, grandchildren, Daria Smith Walker Shey Alford, Emily Shyanne Edwards and Victoria Lynn Edwards, as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Emerald Coast Hospice.
A Celebration of Danny's life will be held at a later date.
