David L. McSpadden Jr, age 58, passed away on June 11, 2022. David was born March 24, 1964 at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy Woodard McSpadden, paternal grandparents Nona Halfacre McSpadden and Henry Cecil McSpadden, and maternal grandparents Hoke Smith Woodard and Cindy Lucille Woodard. He joined the Air Force in 1986 and served his country for many years. His first assignment was at Shaw Air force Base in Sumter, South Carolina. He transferred to Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico, where he met Yolanda his wife of 25 years. He later took a Civil Service position at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida. He also joined the Air Force National Guard at this time. He was recalled to service in 2001 and was deployed to the Philippines. He retired as a Tech Sergeant at Tyndall in 2006. He continued to work in the Civil Service at Tyndall and was later promoted and moved to Eglin AFB in Fort Walton Beach, FL where he worked as the Information Systems Security Manager. He owned and managed rental properties in Panama City and Fort Walton Beach. David loved being on the water, fishing and taking every opportunity to take his family out on the boat. He was an avid collector of guns and knives and enjoyed shooting guns. David was a caring and loving man who included everyone in everything and loved everyone unconditionally. He took joy in helping others and was always the first to jump in to help with anything that was needed and never let his own pain stop him. David cared for his brother Darren and his dad with unboundless love. He spoiled his dogs. Dave enjoyed traveling with his wife and looked forward to retirement. He was a great man with a huge heart and will be greatly missed by all. David leaves his cherished memories to his loving wife Yolanda McSpadden; father Lt. Col David L McSpadden Sr.; children David L McSpadden III (Shea), Sherrie Sealock; Leroy Encinias (Yolanda), Reyes Encinias (Tiffany), Amanda Encinias; sisters Sarah Leggett Tanaka and Theresa McDougall (Jim) brother Darren McSpadden; ten grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces. A visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 pm Thursday June 16, 2022 at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Panama City, FL. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the Funeral Home. There will be a service Friday June 17, 2021, 11:00 am at the Midway United Methodist Church, 200 Midway Church Road, in Cordele, Georgia with interment to follow at Dorough Cemetery.
