DAVID WAYNE WALDROFF
David Wayne Waldroff, 62, of Lynn Haven, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 7, 2018, surrounded by his family. David was a native and life-long resident of Panama City, and was a graduate of Bay High and the University of West Florida. He was a teacher and ordained Assemblies of God minister for most of his life. David was well respected by administration, faculty, staff and students at Mowat Middle School where he spent the majority of his teaching career. He was a great husband, father, and an inspiring man of God who was loved by his family, and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Waldroff, Jr., brother-in-law, Ronald D. Austin, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Waldroff; his daughters, Jessica Bennett and Jana Smeltzer and husband Phillip; his granddaughter, Katelyn Bennett; mother, Mary Waldroff; 3 brothers, Warren and wife Kathy, Tommy and wife Cindy and Mark and wife Margaret; his sisters, Rebekah and Patsy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Warren Waldroff officiating. The family will receive friends at the Chapel from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in his memory.
