Diahnn “Shelly” Summers, 54, of Panama City, FL passed away on August 9, 2022, at Bay Medical Center. Shelly was born in Upland, PA on July 17, 1968 to Annamarie and Jack Skinner. She attended Avon Grove High school but moved to Florida right after graduation, although she always longed to return home.
Shelly worked as a beloved housekeeper, always doting on her devoted families/clients and their homes. Although her heart was always lead to being a humanitarian. Shelly took in many foster children over the years, she was a mother to all who knew her. She opened her home and land to offer a shelter community in her backyard for those in need following Hurricane Michael in 2018. Shelly even received a “First Lady’s Medal for Courage, Commitment, and Service” award from the First Lady of Florida.
Shelly is survived by her husband of 29 years, Samuel Summers, daughters, Kiersten Stevenson, husband Michael, and Gabriel Summers. Three grandchildren, Mylie, Teal, and Mallory, her mother, Annamarie Skinner and 3 sisters, Denise, Debbie and Jacqui, plus several nieces and nephews, and foster children, all of which she loved dearly.
Shelly was sadly predeceased in death by her son, Logan Selby, her father Jack Skinner, and sister Donna Muha.
Memorial services will be held at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home on August 15, 2022 at 2:00pm.
