Donald E. “Don” Daigle, age 93, of Panama City Beach, FL, passed away after a long illness on February 2, 2023. He was born to Tranquille and Amanda (Bourgeois) Daigle on October 4, 1929, in Gardner, MA. Don attended Gardner High School where he excelled in swimming, football and gymnastics, graduating in 1950. Following graduation Don joined the United States Air Force where he spent twenty years proudly serving our nation. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Don spent five years building the family home in Lynn Haven, FL. He went on to have a successful picture framing business in Lynn Haven until he retired at age seventy.
In addition to traveling and spending time with his family, Don loved woodworking, scrolling, golfing and playing cribbage with his friends. He loved good jokes and enjoyed sharing them with friends and family. Don was devout in his faith and was active in the Knights of Columbus for many years, serving as Navigator for the Fourth Degree.
Predeceased by his parents, a brother and two sisters, Don is survived by Lorraine his wife of 68 years and his children David (Stacey) Daigle, Michelle (David) DeAbate and Amanda (James) Youngblood; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Anthony, Kimberly, Alex, Abigail, David and Andrew and two great grandchildren, Saundra and Sebastian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Monday February 13, 2023 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 1003 N. East Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401. The Rite of Committal and Burial with military honors will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
