Donna Hobbs Henning, 72, of Panama City, Florida passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 after a brief bout with pneumonia.
Donna was born on March 2, 1947 in Panama City, and a beloved member of the community. She was a medical assistant for many years with Dr. Jack Shumate. She enjoyed her job and loved interacting with the patients. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and spending time with her animals, friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Major Stephen Henning(USAF); parents Emory Gay and Louise Hobbs; Maternal Grandparents, Joe and Ethyl(Bubba) Ellerbee, Paternal grandparents, Emory and Alla Verne Gay
She is survived by her special friend Joseph Levins; a daughter, Jennifer Shumate (Daryl) and a son, Stephen Henning, Jr; sister Iris Johnston; and her baby uncle, Earl “BoBo” Hobbs: best friend, Sheila Culverhouse; grandchildren, Brett Shumate (Kinzie) of Panama City, Stephen Henning III of Manning SC, and Sarah Henning of Manning SC; future great grandson, Rhett Shumate; and a host of nieces, nephews & cousins.
A celebration honoring Donna’s life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Gulf Coast Medical Center ICU for their professionalism, compassion and support. We would also like to thank our family and friends for the kind words and support during this humbling moment and ask for your continued prayers as we reflect and honor our loved one.
