DORA PAYNE CAREY
Dora Payne Carey was born 4-15-30 in Tuskegee AL. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Carey, as well as two brothers & five sisters.
Survivors include two children: A son, Steve Groce of Fairburn GA. A daughter, Sheila Graham & husband Alan of Panama City FL. her Grandchildren: Greg Groce, Gina Groce, Sarah Dixon, Rhett (Jess) Graham, Chase (Samantha) Graham; Great grandchildren: Kobe Groce, Justin & Emma Dixon, Sydney & Peyton Graham, Wyatt Graham and several nieces & nephews.
Dora was retired from many enjoyable years with Bay Bank/Trustmark in Panama City. She loved working in her yard and spending time with family. She was a faithful long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Millville. Dora greeted each day with a smile & said, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice & be glad in it!” There was a special, close “family” of neighbors in Millville, in particular the Andrews family & Lou Smith who helped care for Dora until she went to heaven on 6-27-20.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating. Interment will follow.
