Douglas “Doug” George Marcotte,

Doug Marcotte, age 71, of Lynn Haven, Fl, passed away suddenly on September 16, 2022. He was born to Barbara Ann (McEvoy) Marcotte and George Marcotte on July 2, 1951, in Plainfield, NJ. Doug is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife Vickie Williams Marcotte and his children Douglas “Dougie” Marcotte and Brooke Marcotte, his sisters Janet Biedron and Jeanne Kiralfy, his blended family Deke Findley and Noah Oglesby, his “bonus” granddaughters “his snickerdoodles” Kaylyn and Laylaa, several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Doug will forever be remembered for his larger-than-life smile, his love of football especially Rutgers and the Packers and the song “My Girl”. A graduate of Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Va. in 1973 and had a long and distinguished career as a Senior Executive for over 33 years in the Clinical Laboratory Industry, rising to EVP of Sales and Marketing for Quest Diagnostic out of Manhattan until his retirement in 2015.
Doug was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Johns Creek, Ga where he attained the honor of Third Degree Knight. He played Baseball and Basketball in High School and Rugby in College. He also had a love of the Jersey Shore and boating and his High Seas Drifter I and II.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 20 at 3:00 at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2403 Harrison Avenue, Panama City, Fl 32405. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Doug will then travel back to his beloved New Jersey where plans are being made for a memorial service in mid to late October, arrangements to be announced later.
Interment will take place at the family plot in New Jersey, arrangements to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his honor to The Knights of Columbus, St Benedicts Catholic Church 11045 Parsons Road, Johns Creek, Ga 30097.
