Dr. Rateb K Homsi

Dr. Rateb K Homsi, age 92, passed away in Lynn Haven, Florida on July 9, 2021.  He was born in 1929 in Damascus, Syria.  He immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 to continue his medical training after he graduated from the University of Damascus Medical School.  While continuing his education, he met his future wife Laura Jean Morgan in Jacksonville, Florida. They were married on Septemebr3, 1958.  After a few moves during his medical training, they settled in Cheboygan Michigan in 1963 where he opened a medical practice and was a Board Certified Surgeon at Community Memorial Hospital until his retirement in 1991.  He loved Detroit Lions football team, the game of golf, playing cards and games with his grandchildren.  He moved to Lynn Haven, Florida in 1991 where he spent his retirement years traveling the world with his wife Laura and experienced some of the best that life had to offer.  Rateb leaves cherished memories to his loving wife of 62 years Laura; three sons Terence Homsi (Natalia), Ray Homsi (Michelle), and Kenneth Homsi; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
