Mrs. Eftichia Maris, age 79 of Panama City, FL passed away on Thursday July 18, 2019, in Orlando, FL. She was a long-time resident of Panama City having moved there in 1967 from her birthplace and homeland of Jerusalem, Israel. She was a long-time member of the Greek Orthodox Church of Panama City and often attended the Greek Orthodox Church in Ft. Walton Beach. She was also a member of the Church Choir and the Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society. Mrs. Maris was also a long-time member of the St. Andrew Bay Quilter's Guild.
She is survived by her son Nick Maris and Despo Maris of Panama City, her daughter Helen Russo, and David Russo of Panama City, son George Maris and Kelly Maris of Orlando, brother Stavros Moustakas of New Jersey. Mrs. Maris was the loving YaYa (Grandmother) to her six grandchildren and one great grandson, and loving aunt to her nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband Panayiotis Maris.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John The Theologian Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. George Dursa and Fr. Thomas Guerry officiating. Interment will follow at Kent Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Panama City. Asked to serve as active pall bearers are George Maris, David Russo, Panayiotis Maris, Bobby Courson, Jimmy Coumalatsos, and Greg Taylor.
