Eugene Zix

Eugene Edward Zix, 91 of Panama City Beach, passed away June 13, 2017 at his home. Eugene was born February 8, 1926 in Cincinnati, OH to Edward J. and Margaret (Mecklenborg) Zix and moved to Panama City Beach in 1983. Eugene is a WWII Army Veteran and a graduate of Xavier University School of Business. Eugene retired from Seagrams Company in 1983 with over 27 years of employment. Locally, Eugene was a faithful member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church where he was active in its choir, building committee and was a founding member of the Rosary Crusade to End Abortion. Eugene was united in marriage on October 16, 1954 to his wife, June who preceded him in death in 2011. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Norman. Eugene is survived by his children, Sandra (Ron) Cekot and Michael Zix all of Panama City Beach and Mark Zix of Cincinnati, OH; his grandson, Shawn Gross of Cincinnati and his two great-grandchildren, Liam and Lucy Gross. Friends will be received Monday, June 26 from 6-8 pm at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home where a Rosary will be recited that evening at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11 am, Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
