FRANCES MAE TATE DONLON
Frances Mae Tate Donlon was born in Bridgeboro, Ga., August 25, 1932, and died in Panama City, Fl May 31, 2020 at age 87.
Fran was the last living child of Guy and Nellie Tate, late of Moultrie, Ga. Fran’s father was a sharecropper much of his life until he was able to buy his own 27 acre farm. Although Fran graduated high school in 1950, much of her youth was spent working on the farm from dawn until dusk. She would consistently outwork all the adults, regardless of the crop. In 1957, she enlisted in the USAF for 4 months until she married John (Jack) H. Donlon on Nov 15, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas. After Jack retired from the USAF in 1977, they moved back to Panama City. Fran loved working in her yard. She was also involved in various church service organizations at St. John’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Kevin Born/Died – 1957. She is survived by 2 sons - John and Groovy Brian; 4 grandchildren - Ana, Maria F., Brian, and Jacqueline; and 2 great grandchildren – Christian and Mila.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Catholic Cemetery,1400 Frankford Avenue, with Rev. Kevin McQuone officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 PM.
