Francis (Frank) Dominick Mancinelli, 79, passed away unexpectedly on June 29, 2022. He was born in New York City, New York on March 17, 1943 to Joseph and Theresa (née, Morano) Mancinelli. After graduating from Olyphant High School in Pennsylvania, he joined the US Air Force at the age of 17. His overseas tour started in Germany and continued to Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. Upon returning to the United States, he proudly served as aircraft maintainer and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant at Tyndall AFB after 22 years of service. During retirement, he obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication from the Florida State University and a Master’s Degree of Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.



With the Love of the Ocean, Frank found joy in scuba diving. His introduction to this sport was by a group of Marines who took him diving on combat mission during Vietnam. He became seasoned dive instructor sharing his passion with hundreds of people. After his career in the Air Force, Frank worked on Tyndall AFB for Lockheed Martin specializing in Environmental and Safety Regulations. Most recently, Frank worked at the UF/IFAS Extension Bay County as the project manager of the Hurricane Michael Debris Removal Grant and served as a commissioner for the City of Callaway. Frank was a proud member of the Tyndall Dive Flight, the Sons of Italy, Fishers of Men and St. Dominic Catholic Church. 



Frank leaves behind his beloved partner of 32 years, Susan E. Zeidler; his daughter, Cynthia Helgenson and husband Matt; his sons Geno and Frankie; his grandchildren Owen, Jordan, Emie, and Frank; his great grandson Kamari. He is also survived by his sister Joan Galenas, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends who have blessed his life.



He is preceded in death his father and mother, Joseph and Theresa Mancinelli; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Gene Anastasio; brother and sister-in-law, James and Ann Mancinelli.



A mass will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 1600. An additional service will be held in Pennsylvania at a future date, where Frank will be laid to rest.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mexico Beach Artificial Reef Association or St. Dominic Catholic Church.
