FRANK MALCOLM SIMPSON
Malcolm Simpson, age 82, quietly slipped into the arms of our Lord on March, 23, 2017. He was born to the late Charlie and Olive (King) Simpson on August 5, 1934 in Atlanta, GA. Malcolm grew up in Lakewood Heights, a suburb of Atlanta, and graduated Fulton High School and Georgia Tech. He then served a tour of duty with the US Air Force becoming a military pilot, flying the T33. With a dedicated love for flying, he went on to have a career as a Captain with Delta Airlines, flying domestic and internationally for 35 years. During his career, he flew the L100, DC9, 727, 757, 767, and L1011. Following retirement, Malcolm took up playing more golf with his buddies at the Atlanta Country Club where he was a member for many years. He also began spending more time on the beaches of South Walton, Florida where he met his life partner, Rita. Malcolm never met a stranger, his exuberance was felt by all who knew him, lived his life with positivity and always flashed his signature megawatt smile. His was a life well lived. Malcolm's sister, Judy Garner and brother-in-law Ray preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Phillip Simpson; Daughter, Linda Ritter (Mark); granddaughters, Kelsey (Kevin) Fitzpatrick, Paige Ritter and Casey Simpson; nieces Julie Garner Clarke and Valorie Garner; and his life partner Rita Whitehouse and her extended family.
Visitation will be from 10:00 -11:00 AM Monday, March 27, 2017, at the Kent-Forest lawn Funeral Home Chapel followed by services at 11:00 with Rev. Craig Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
