FRANKLIN DEE "SANDY" SANDERSON

Franklin Dee "Sandy" Sanderson, 80, of Panama City, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017. Sandy was born in Huntsville, AL, and lived in Panama City for the last 42 years. He served 21 years in the US Air Force, retiring as an Air Traffic Controller at the rank of SMSGT. Sandy was a Vietnam veteran, earning 2 Bronze Stars for valor. He enjoyed fishing, and in his younger days, drag racing.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Ussanee "Toy" Sanderson; 2 children, Sherri Walsh of Las Vegas, NV and Terri "Shannon" Zahn of Chicago, IL; 4 grandchildren, Shannon, Jazmine, Emmalee and Makayla; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats, Cowboy and Mama Girl.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 17, 2017, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Bryan officiating and military honors offered by the USAF Honor Guard.
