George Gibson Hurst, III, 75 of Panama City, passed away July 26, 2018. George was born August 14, 1942 in Hattiesburg, MS to George and Annie (Hobdy) Hurst, II and moved to Panama City in 1969. George is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, Class of ’64 and the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, Class of ’66. He remained a pharmacist his whole career, having owned his own pharmacy for 18 years and then retired from Bay Medical Sacred Heart Hospital with over 15 years of employment. George was a parishioner of St. Dominic Catholic Church, enjoyed sailing with the St. Andrew Bay Yacht Club, and treasured his time and friendships in the Dixie Investment Club. George was united in marriage in 1966 to his wife, Susan “Sue” who resides in Panama City. He is also survived by his children, George (Autumn) Hurst, IV, Robert (Amy) Hurst, Morgan (Amy) Hurst and Amy (Chase) Taylor; his siblings, Betty Malanchak, Dana Smart, Richard Hurst and Tom Hurst; his grandchildren, George “Quinn” V, McKenzie, Peyton, Garrett, Morgan, Amyjo and Jessica Till. Friends will be received Tuesday from 9-10 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10 am. The Rosary will be recited 7 pm Monday at the church chapel. Inurnment will take place privately at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s memory to the Robert P.
