Glenda Grantham Smith, age 77, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2023. She was a resident of Lynn Haven, Florida for 56 years and was born in Chunky, Mississippi on January 28, 1945. She spent her formative years in Mobile, Alabama, and graduated from Vigor High School. She worked for Southern Bell in Mobile, Alabama, following graduation; then, transferred to the Panama City, Florida office in 1966. She worked with BellSouth Corporation for 34 years until she retired. Glenda enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glenda was loved by many and will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Jerome and Ceola Grantham, her brother Terry Grantham, and her grandson Stephen Bane II. Glenda is survived by her two daughters, Delinda Bane Melvin (Stephen) of Altha and Amanda Youngblood (Greg) of Youngstown; her brother Ronnie Grantham (Margie) of Satsuma, Alabama and her sister Carolyn Wade of Fort Walton Beach; grandsons Ryan Youngblood (Kristine) of Savannah, Georgia, Jeremy Youngblood of Youngstown, Garrett Youngblood of Lynn Haven and Patrick Bane of Arlington, VA; and three great grandchildren Ella, Miles and Zoe Youngblood. The family will receive friends at the Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. The Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jon Cupp officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in the garden of peace, 3733 US Highway 231 North.
