Harry Louis Paul, 83, of Wewahitchka, Florida, passed away June 13,2022. Harry L. Paul was born August 29, 1938, in Holbrook, New York. He served our country, in the Army, for almost 30 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. During his time in the military, he was an Air Traffic Controller, became a pilot, had 2 tours to Vietnam and was stationed at several bases stateside and overseas. He amassed over 16,000 flying hours in both fixed wing and helicopters. After retiring out of Fort Rucker in Enterprise, Alabama, he worked for a company called Flight Safety lnternational based out of Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida, for 5 years. Harry was also Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department located on Cape San Blas, Florida. As a child he always wanted to work in Law Enforcement. He decided to go back to school and became a Correctional Officer. While working as a Correctional Officer he did the required cross over schooling needed and joined the Gulf County Sheriff’s Department as an Auxiliary Officer. Harry was very involved with the VFW located in Highland View, Florida and was the Quartermaster for over 30 years. He also worked on the district level with the VFW. He was a long-time member of the Masons, Scottish Rite, Shriners and Eastern Star.
Harry L. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Harry W. and Estelle V. Paul, his wife of 49 years, Judith M. Paul and his eldest son Harry A. Paul (Hap). Harry leaves behind his sister Deanna Suckow (William); 2 sons: Jeffrey A. Paul (Mirtha) and Bryan P. Paul (Lori); 8 Grandchildren: Jessica Kahle, Shelzi Paul, Shayna Paul, Jeffrey Paul, Joey Paul, Kyle Paul, Jordan Collins (Joey), Arianna Paul (fiance - Robert Bates),; 6 Great Grandchildren Braxton Sankey, Rylan Sankey, Jazlyn Collins, Jessi Collins, Blake Bates and Madilyn Kahle and many nieces and nephews.
Harry L. Paul was an amazing dad to his sons and an awesome Poppop to his grandkids and G-Pops to his Great Grandkids. He touched so many lives, making lasting impressions on everyone who met him. It was always said that Harry never met a stranger and treated everyone with respect and humbleness. He would help anyone in need and would give the shirt off his back. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. But Harry L. Paul has traded his flight wings for angel wings and has joined his wife, the love of his life, as they watch over their family and friends.
Family will have a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Harry L. Paul with full
Military Honors and Masonic and Eastern Star Service on July 16,2022, at the Masonic Lodge Wewahitchka at 11:00 am.
