Tribute

Hazel Maxine Linnville Priester was born January 6, 1927, in Pensacola, Florida, and passed away April 8, 2021, in Panama City Beach, Florida. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband of over 70 years, Francis Priester, her parents Hazel and Edgar “Max” Linnville, her four brothers Marion Linnville, Raymond Linnville, Emory Linnville, and Clarence Linnville, and one grandson, James Anderson. Maxine graduated from Pensacola High School in 1944 and enlisted in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corp. She trained at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1947. She returned to Pensacola, where she worked as an RN and met the love of her life, Francis Priester. They married in 1950 and moved to Panama City. She worked at Bay Memorial Hospital as a charge nurse until she left nursing in 1952 when their first child was born, to be homemaker and mother. Francis and Maxine moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 1960, but upon Francis’s retirement in 1977, returned to Panama City. They were members of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. Maxine is survived by their two children Allen Priester of Locust Grove, VA and Judy Anderson (Dennis) of Puyallup, WA, 5 grandsons, 3 great-grandsons, and 2 great-granddaughters. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Panama City on April 22, 2021 at 2 pm. The service will be live-streamed. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the wonderful care both Francis and Maxine received from the nurses, aids, kitchen and housekeeping staff, and executive staff of Superior Residences in Panama City Beach. We could not have asked for a better home for our parents for the last few years of their lives. For this reason, in lieu of flowers, please send donations in Maxine’s name to: The Employees’ Fund C/O Superior Residences 95 Grand Heron Drive Panama City Beach, FL 32407
