Herman Swearingen, 82, of Panama City, Florida, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at a local care center.
Herman owned and operated Swearingen Sanitation for several years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Betty M. Swearingen; parents Chester and Essie Mae Swearingen; children Bertha “B.B.” Russ, Martha “Betty Faye” Posey, James Swearingen, and John Swearingen; brothers Robert Swearingen, Hayes Swearingen, and Hilton Swearingen; grandson Jimmy Emanuel.
He is survived by his sister Hilda Atkinson; brother Melvin “Houston” Swearingen; grandchildren Amy Mathis (Willie), January Huckabee (Charles), Jamie Powers (Will), and Jimmie “Bo” Russ (Courtney); numerous great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Friday, December 7, 2018 at Springfield Community Church with Rev. Clyde Tucker officiating. Family will receive friends and family 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the church.
Serving as pallbearers are Melvin “Houston” Swearingen, Jimmy Russ, Charles Huckabee, Brandon Tipton, Will Powers, and Jimmy “Bo” Russ.
