Jack (Wendy) Hyde Jr. age 69, of Calera Alabama/Panama City Beach Florida, passed away on March 24, 2024 at VITAS hospice in Panama City Florida. He was born on October 16, 1954, to Jack and Elbra Hyde in Birmingham Alabama.
He grew up in Fairfield Highlands Alabama where he enjoyed little league baseball with his friends and playing football at Rutledge Junior High School. He was a 1972 graduate of Hueytown High School. He also attended Walker College, UAB and Bessemer State Technical College. Throughout the years he worked at United States Steel, ABC Rail Corporation and Dunn Construction (Asphalt).
His hobbies included photography, astronomy and he was a gun enthusiast. He also enjoyed spending time with his father working (tinkering) on cars, lawn mowers and other projects. He was active at the Baptist church in Calera where he taught the men’s Sunday school class.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jack W Hyde Sr. and is survived by his mother, Elbra Hyde and his sister and brother-in-law, Lori & Wayne Williams.
A graveside service will be conducted on April 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 3733 Highway 231 Panama City Florida.
