Jacqueline Patricia Porzio

September 9, 1926 ~ January 8, 2018 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Jacqueline (Jackie) Scott Porzio

Jackie Porzio, of Panama City Beach, entered heaven on January 8, 2018, to join her beloved husband, Michael, and her beloved daughter, Lucille. Jackie was born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 19, 1926, the only child of Peter Scott and Lucille Carbone Scott.

Jackie attended Catholic schools in Brooklyn. After graduation from high school, she began nurses' training but realized a career in nursing was not for her. She married the love of her life, Michael Porzio, on September 1, 1946. Together they had three children: Therese (Terry) Porzio Henry (W.C. Bill) of Panama City Beach, Lucille Porzio Totten (Bill) of Coral Springs, Florida and Michael J. Porzio (Barbara) of Pawling, New York. Jackie devoted her life to raising her children in Valley Stream, New York, and ensuring they received the best education possible . Often she had to care for them alone when Mike was overseas for extended periods on business. A highlight of her life was the two years the whole family lived in Paris, France.

Tragedy struck her life in June 1977 when her husband, Mike, died suddenly of a heart attack at age 51. Throughout her life, Jackie was the principal care giver for her parents until their deaths in 1993 and 1996. She also worked for the State of New York for a number of years during this time in Middletown, New York. She moved to Coral Springs, Bradenton, and finally Panama City Beach where she enjoyed participating in the "Sea Needles" knitting group and Education Encore, and attending the Panama City POPS concerts. She was also a devoted parishioner of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church for the past 13 years.

Tragedy again broke Jackie's heart when her daughter Lucille died in August 2015 after a prolonged battle with multiple sclerosis.

Jackie is survived by her daughter Terry and son Mike, and 11 grandchildren: Bill Henry (Jennifer) of Lynn Haven; Tracey Tollison (Trip) of Savannah; Chris Totten (Melanie) of Tamarac; Mike Henry (Beth) of Santa Rosa Beach; Lori Totten Lightford of Katy, TX; Matt Henry of Cleveland; Stacey Totten Eldred (Dereck) of Coral Springs; Melissa Totten of Coral Springs; Michael Porzio (Emily) of Brewster, NY; Steven Porzio of Boston; and Scott Porzio of Pawling. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Henry, Abigail Henry, Hank Tollison, Lula Tollison, Shawn Lightford, Madison Eldred, Charlie Henry, Connor Lightford, Madelyn Henry, Ava Eldred, Tyler Totten, and Cheyenne Lightford.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with the Very Reverend Ted Sosnowski, VF officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. and from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 13, 2018 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Interment will take place in Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury, New York.
