JIM BEAVERS

Jim Beavers, loving husband and father of two, passed away on December 27, 2018 at the age of 59. Jim was preceded in death by his father Willam and mother Sylvia. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandie, daughters Kristin and Brianna, sister Barbara, and brother William. Jim was a brave veteran, a loving husband, and doting father. He was a self-proclaimed awesome guy and those who knew him found it hard to argue.

After serving twenty years in the U.S. Navy, Jim’s love of the sea lead to a career as a merchant marine where he was able to continue exploring the world. His work led him all over Europe, Africa, and Central America. Though his job led him to distant corners of the world, his love for his family always helped him find his way home.

Jim was known for his larger-than-life personality. He had an opinion on everything and wasn’t afraid to share it, loudly and at length. He was someone that others came to for advice, and always knew the right thing to say, even if it wasn’t what they wanted to hear. His honesty, integrity, and caring heart shone through all his words and actions. He was selfless, and would as soon give you the shirt off his back even if it was the only one he owned. Jim will be remembered as the solid foundation of his family and a shining light to all his friends. He will be loved and missed always and forever.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev.Virgil Tillman officiating. Interment will follow.
