James Coy Farris aka Chock, 75 of Lynn Haven, Florida, passed away on July 9th at Gulf Coast Medical Center. He was born on June 21, 1946 in Panama City Fl. Chock was a devoted Father, Husband , Brother and Poppy. He worked with Chambless Nursey and Landscaping of Lynn Haven, FL. Chock served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion in Lynn Haven Post 356 and a Lifetime member of the VFW In Rockwood, TN.
He was preceded in death by his father Clyde Cecil Farris and mother Wilmerth “Billie” Infinger Chambless He was also preceded in death by his brother in law Michael Turner and best friends Claud Hutchinson, Buddy Boutwell, Bill Carpenter, his aunt, Patricia Stuckey, Bill Kinsaul, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Callie Jean Farris, daughters Ashley Farris Hutchinson and Claud Allan, Tiffany Farris Bailey and husband John, Elaine Addis and Bobby, Victoria and Jerry Dean, Deena Carson and Roy, Coy Farris, Eddie and Kim Farris, David and Minnie Farris and Timothy Farris; his honorary daughters, Ashley Jolly, Amanda Benton and Kayla Lowrey. He is also survived by 6 siblings Linda Mitchell and Ken, Connie Etheridge and J D, Brenda Turner, Wanda Gilmore, Ronnie Farris and Janine, Tim Farris and Cindy, Ricky Chambless and Sarah. He is also survived by his step father Dayton Rhudeen Chambless and wife Christine. He is survived by Grandchildren Laken, Seth, Lauren , Chloe, Blakelei, Rylee, Tristin and Blair and 18 other grand children, 15 great grand children, numerous nieces and nephews; and two Fur-kids Daisy and Cooper.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and softball player. He loved NASCAR and dirt track racing. He enjoyed life to the fullest and most of all loved his family most especially his wife Jeanniebug.
A gathering of friends and family will be on Wednesday July 14th from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday July 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charlie Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery on Blue Springs Road in Youngstown.
The family would like to thank Dr Azzam Adhal and staff for more than 40 years of service and devoted loyalty and friendship. They also would like to say a special Thank you to Dr Kamel Elzawahry, Dr Hoda Elzawahry, Dr Acrief Makki, Dr Khurrum Nazir, Dr James Tackett and all the staff at Gulf Coast Medical Center ICU.
Pallbearers are Claud Allan Hutchinson, John Bailey, Jeff Hutchinson and Seth Summers. Honorary pallbearers are Leon Mathis, Lynn Mathis, Ronald Mathis, David “Seabo” Glaze, David Gilmore, Grant Byrd, Johnny Richardson, Steven Peoples, George Jordan, Mike Hoffman, and James Finch.
