Tribute

Jan (Coffin) Miller passed away on June 11, 2018 at Gulf Coast Medical Center after a long illness. She was born and raised in New England. After completing her schooling, she moved to Washington D.C. During the Korean conflict Jan worked at the Pentagon where she met and married Richard. They moved to Paris, France for 3 years then returned to the D.C. area. After retirement they moved to Panama City in 1976.
After Richard’s passing, Jan became involved in volunteering for Red Cross, VITA, United Way, Hospice, Council on Aging, and was an usher at the Marina Civic Center for many years.
She was a faithful member to Grace Baptist Church for many years. At home she loved knitting and crocheting. Jan visited 15 countries, many of them with Angie’s group from Gulf Coast Hospital (what fun!)
Jan is survived by her son, Barry, and his wife, Emiko; her daughter, Shelley; her grandson, Tanner, and his wife, Linda; great-grandson, Odinn; brother, Glenn, and his wife, Robbin; and several nieces and nephews which she loved so dearly.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14th at Kent Forest Lawn at 2:00 p.m. with viewing 1 hour prior to service. Pastor Mike Jones will officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with her best friend.
In lieu of flowers she would like donations to Emerald Coast Hospice or to the Emerald Coast Fellowship Backpack Program.
