JEFFERY NELSON SMITH

Jeffery Nelson Smith, 58 years old, passed away unexpectedly on October 2, 2021. Jeff was born April 18, 1963 in Panama City, FL to Erymon "Boe" and Rubye Fleming-Smith. Jeff was a hard working, quiet, laid back man who believed in doing right and helping others in need. His faith was strong, and he loved his family beyond measure. He was a man of many talents which was evident in his home which he and wife, Sheila, enjoyed together.

Jeff graduated from Rutherford High School, class of 1981. He was employed by Southeast Utilities working in Augusta, GA who became his family away from home. He was preceded in death by his father, Erymon "Boe" Smith; father-in-law, Jim Bouchillon; sister-in-law, Kelli Bouchillon-Dunn; and his grandparents.

Jeff is survived by his wife Sheila; 2 sons, Matthew and wife Tiffany of Ramstein, Germany and Cody and wife Megan of Abilene, TX; 5 grandchildren, Braelyn, Kaleb, Evelyn and Olivia and baby Beau due in December 2021. Also surviving are his mother, Rubye Smith; a brother, his "womb mate" Gregory Smith and Noy; his mother-in-law, Ginger Bouchillon and brother-in-law, Richard and wife Venus of Sterling, VA. Jeff also leaves behind several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 11, 2021, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jessie Dasher officiating. The family will receive friends at the Chapel from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Charles J. Smith, Keith Gillingham, Russell Gillingham, Tony Romano, Rich Bouchillon and Ricky Lynch. Honorary pallbearers will be employess of Southeast Utilities, friends at Comcast, and his childhood Callaway friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the First Baptist Church of Callaway Building Fund or to St. Andrew Baptist Church Center of Hope.
