Jeffrey Rudolph Giles, age 68, of Panama City, FL, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, surrounded by his family and friends. Jeff was born in Ruislip, England to Jim & Doris Giles on April 5, 1954.

Jeff graduated from Bay County High School in 1972. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in Management in February, 2008 and his Master’s Degree in Management in August, 2010 from The University of Phoenix. He served his country faithfully in the US Navy from September 19, 1975, to August 24, 1979. His worked at the US Army, Corps of Engineers from 1980 until his retirement in 2015. He served in Afghanistan during “Operation Enduring Freedom.” He was proud of his military service and so is his family. He served well and had a wall of plaques and certificates that he would proudly tell you about.

Jeff is predeceased by his father and mother, his sister, Kimberly Ann Klunk, grandparents, Edward & Ann Giles, Rudolph & Hildur Carlson, and William & Elizabeth Shirley. He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Danny) Bohrer and James Giles, his grandchildren, Holden & Knox Bohrer and Adalee Traynor & Brinleigh Giles. He leaves behind his mother, Ann Giles and five siblings, Anita (Johnny) Arnold, Laurie (Jimmy) Jernigan, Don (Rhonda) Giles, Cathy Aldea and Kay (Darryl) Taylor. Jeff also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and friend, Claire Miller.

Jeff was loved by many that have been by his side during the hard times and the good times. He loved to surf, catch crabs, and host parties at his house. His house was his “happy place!” He will always be remembered as the “Crab King.” He touched the lives of many people in his short 68 years.

The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice for the care extended to Jeff. Their compassion will always be remembered.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 11 beginning at 2 PM at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2403 Harrison Avenue, Panama City, FL. 32405. with Pastor David Kehl officiating The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Celebration of Life will follow at The No Name Lounge from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on the back deck.
